Top Award for Sam….

Fantastic news…. Knaphill has another Scout who has achieved the Chief Scout Gold Award.

Sam (14) has been with 1st Knaphill Scout Group since he was 6, when he joined as a Beaver Scout.  Sam has attended almost every event and camp since he has been with the Group, which is a fantastic achievement. He has travelled abroad with the Group and also acted as a buddy at Handicamp, a camp for children with special needs.

Sam has worked hard to achieve the badges required to complete the Gold Award but has enjoyed the challenges they presented; ‘I have really enjoyed my time in Scouts, highlights for me have been cycling the Downslink railway and hiking in the Brecon Beacons’

Sam received his award from the County Commissioner at an award ceremony at Yehudi Menuhin School in Cobham in July.

Well done Sam —- have fun in Explorers!
