SCOUTS SPECIAL EXPEDITION 2026…..

Expedition Hike in Ashdown Forest

The hike was very tiring. We got off the bus at a stop called “Garage” then we walked from there to Pooh Bridge using a map and compass; it took us about 30 mins. When we got to Pooh Bridge we played pooh sticks, had lunch, ate toxic waste (see waste faces below!) and explored. Bibi and Cerys crossed the river to an island and I won all of our pooh sticks races. After that we then carried on walking to the campsite. We took lots of breaks and we ate lots of Skittles and trail mix. The walk included using a map and compass and meeting lots of dogs. Graham stayed far behind us giving us independence to get lost! Overall the walk was very fun but tiring.

When we got to the campsite we had to navigate to our pitch, but the campsite was very big. Luckily there were two entrances so we went to the back entrance because it was closer. When we got to our pitch we dropped our bags off and went to the toilets. After, Caitlin and Esme put up the tent while Bibi and I cooked dinner. We had a really healthy dinner of Super Noodles with Kabanos sausages. Then we all washed up and explored camp and chilled for a bit, then before we knew it we had to go to bed. When we woke up in the morning, we had flapjacks that Esme’s mum had made for us before the camp.

After breakfast we took down our tent and we had to walk about 15 minutes to get out of the campsite.
