BEAVERS: AUTUMN PIRATE CAMP

Date: 29th Oct 2025 Author: Tracey Daniell

Pirate Bob walked the plank into the campfire at Beaver’s pirate themed camp at Birchmere campsite.   Beavers made pirate guys at their Tuesday meeting, then in a scene that wouldn’t have been out of the place in Lord of the Flies they burnt them at camp to chants of  ‘walk the plank…walk the plank!’

Beavers love the opportunity to camp in tents & older Beavers were great at showing our newest members how to sort out the tent.

They enjoyed a treasure hunt on the Friday evening followed by a sing song with hot dogs & smores at the campfire.

Beavers practiced their knots on Saturday and put them into good use by tying enough rope together to be able to pull a treasure chest full of loot towards them to get the treasured golden coins!  They then made pirate medallions and enjoyed climbing the rigging & playing ‘hunt the stowaway’.

Thank you to Anna & Michelle for organizing the camp & to Jo, Ross & Xavier for all their help—a great camp enjoyed by all.
