BEAVER’S CARDBOARD CITY FUN!

Date: 20th Oct 2024 Author: Tracey Daniell

We started our sleepover with a walk down to the woods. The walk quickly turned into a fungi foray where Beavers did a great job spotting fungi! We identified over 10 different types with the help of a phone app. After a quick stop at the playground we headed back to the hq & Beavers started to construct their cardboard houses. Their imaginations ran wild with all sorts of refinements!

They then tucked into their dinner of pasta bolognaise with cheese & garlic bread with a fruit ice cream sundae for pudding. After a bit more work on their houses they settled down to watch a movie. Then there was time for a few card games before they headed outside to toast marshmallows over the fire & have their hot chocolate. Beavers loved arranging their sleeping bags in their cardboard houses & went to bed.

Amazingly Beavers slept in until 7:15! We then got up & had breakfast & packed up. Well done to our Beavers for becoming so self reliant. They are all learning how to pack their sleeping gear away. A very useful skill.

Here is a few of their favourite things about the sleepover:

Max – building my truck

Samuel – everything!

Tegbhir – my favourite thing was dinner it was yummy

Rowan – making my den because you could put lots of things to it, make it like a car. A driving house!

Isabel – marshmallows because they were squidgy

Lucas – doing the cardboard houses and sleeping

Elliot – the marshmallows because they are yummy to eat

Lillian – marshmallows because I get to roast them
