BEAVER’S MINIBEAST DETECTIVE CAMP
What enthusiastic minibeast detectives we have in Knaphill! It is truly wonderful to see Beavers in awe of nature. They were all fully engaged searching for minibeasts & found lots! All were observed for a short while before releasing.
In addition to looking for minibeasts Beavers learnt about mosquitoes & malaria. They completed the elements required for the Scouts Against Malaria badge. Scouts against Malaria is a great project run by some Scouters in Hampshire. They are dedicated to raising awareness about malaria & fundraising to buy impregnated mosquito nets which they take to Africa where they meet with African Scouts who then distribute these to remote villages in sub Saharan Africa. Each Beaver donated a mosquito net to this great cause.
Special mention to both Lilian & Peter who both did a great job recording their minibeast finds & to Mary for organizing a great minibeast game—Beetle, Beetle, Sting!
