CUBS SKILLS CAMP OCTOBER 2017

Date: 19th Oct 2017 Author: Tracey Daniell

Cubs had another successful cub camp which was themed “Skills”. Some of the skills activities were honing navigation skills & putting them into practice, using a Trangia to cook dinner & breakfast, and for some of them this was an exciting first time! The Cubs put up their tents themselves and the older ones did this without any help.

The attitude from all the Cubs on this camp was excellent, some asked for a bigger challenge of a longer hike and some demonstrated their map reading skills really well. We were sharing Birchmere Campsite with Horsell Scouts and at campfire in the evening there was no contest! Our Cubs were really confident with their singing and getting up to do skits & songs, very well done!
