FAMILY CAMP 2024

Date: 17th Sep 2024 Author: Tracey Daniell

Families from 1st Knaphill Scout Group came together under sunny skies for a fun weekend of activities at Birchmere campsite to give everyone a taste of Scout camp.   Here is what Scout Ava had to say about it……

I went to family camp with my family on 14th and 15th September. I loved everything, including archery, axe throwing, bouncy slide, shooting, slip & slide, obstacle course, Firebird challenge, campfire activities, lighting fire, water bottle rockets, and making marshmallows. I got there on Saturday, set up camp and had lunch. After lunch there were most of the activities then dinner. Then we made a campfire and did lots of jokes and songs. After that we had lots of yummy cakes and went to bed. In the morning we had breakfast and some more activities happened like a what 3 words hike and Firebird challenge building. We had to make a harness to launch action man on a water bottle rocket. After we tested them and they were all pretty cool. We then went home, I had a really great time.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
