Here are reports from 2 of our Scouts……

When I first arrived, I was excited about all of the activities and challenges in the next day. There were lots of different Scout and Guide groups everywhere, so at first it was hard to find the way back to our camp, but friends showed us the right way. The opening ceremony had loud, colourful and breath-taking fireworks. The concert had variety of different songs and lights.

We all slept in the mess tent and didn’t get much sleep. The next day, the activities started at 10am, we had bacon rolls before then.

My favourite activity was donut making. You made a jam sandwich, coated in pancake mixture then deep fried it – it tasted amazing. The other activities that I enjoyed included the coconut throw, catapults, pinball, angry pigs and more!

Scoutabout was amazing and I would highly recommend it.

Scoutabout 2022 was one of the best scout camps which I have ever been on.

Day 1 We arrived at Scout about at 6:00 pm and made our way to our camp, which was thankfully made for us.- we were sleeping in the mess temp tonight! For dinner, we had hotdogs and then set up our sleeping area. We were staying in the same area as the 7th Woking and other Woking district scout groups. Later that day the concert started (the person playing was called Hannah Dorman) The concert was brilliant, everyone enjoyed themselves. After the concert, the opening ceremony happened and hundreds of fireworks rushed into the air to form amazing patterns to open Scoutabout 2022. We went to bed at about 10:30.

Day 2 We woke up at around 6 o’clock and went outside for breakfast- which was bacon and sausages. At 10:00 am the activities started, I went to the driving, which although the queue was 2 hours long still was worth it. At 1 o’clock it was lunch where we had some sandwiches and crisps. At 14:00 the activities resumed and I repeatedly tried to get a coconut from the coconut shy but eventually failed. After that I and some of my friends decided to compete in the talent show; it was lots of fun and we threw a shoe in and whoever retrieved it got a fizzy drink.  After that the activities ended and we went back to our camp to have dinner, which was chilli. After dinner we went to the concert again – this time it was Sour kix and it was so much fun and the music was amazing. We went to bed at 11:00 pm

Day 3  We woke up at 7:00 and slowly got up for the day ahead of us. We had the same breakfast as yesterday and then went to do activities. I attempted the climbing tower and loved the Scalextric in which Me and Ben came in 2nd and 3rd. After lunch, we had to pack up the mess tent and clean up for roughly one and a half hours after which we went to the closing ceremony where a band played some songs and we were shown a montage of what we had done over the 3 days. Then we went home and arrived at about 5:00pm.

I loved it and made new friends and it was a really friendly atmosphere.
