SCOUTS: LEADERSHIP SKILLS CAMP

Date: 22nd Oct 2025 Author: Tracey Daniell

Interview with Scout Cerys:

Where and when was Skills camp?

Cerys:  It was at Boiderhurst Scout Campsite on the 27th & 28th September.

Have you been to that campsite before?

Cerys: No

Was it a nice campsite?

Cerys: It was except for the load of chestnuts that kept falling down

What things did you do on camp?

Cerys:  We did loads of team building activities like putting up tents blindfolded with a person from each group being a leader and instructing us how to put up the tents while we were blindfolded.

What other things did you do?

Cerys: Rebekah built a campfire &  we had ‘smores.  We also had to bring a skill to camp to teach others.  I did body percussion.

What was the favourite skill you learnt?

Cerys:  Active communication which is where you look at the person was speaking & nod your head.

What was your favourite activity?

Cerys:  My favourite activity was Werewolf which we played in the dark! which was really fun!

Did you like the food?

Cerys:  Yes, I loved the bacon, apart from my patrol made it a bit too  burnt so it sort of dissolved in your mouth!

Thank you leaders for organizing the camp I really enjoyed it.

I would really recommend it to others because we learnt life skills & it was really, really fun!
