SUMMER CUB CAMP

Date: 24th Jul 2019 Author: Tracey Daniell

Cubs had a brilliant summer camp with St John’s Cubs recently. We haven’t had a joint camp with another pack for a few years; Cubs really enjoyed themselves and had a great time.

There were lots of fun activities such as shooting, pioneering, free time (always popular!) and kayaking. The kayaking was very popular and the Cubs really enjoyed paddling long the canal in Send learning some new skills and getting a bit wet! The weather was so hot it was really nice to cool off with a water fight and silly stuff such as flossing while standing up in a kayak!

Thank you to the parents that helped us set up tents and transport equipment & kit to and from camp etc, it’s a big help at the start and end of a hectic weekend. We also had a cub dad camping with us for the weekend, thank you Andy; your help during the weekend made a big difference and we really appreciate it. Any parents who want to see what their cubs get up to on camp and would like to help, watch this space…

At the end of camp we invested 3 cubs into the pack, congratulations Luke, Josh and Alex; all 3 of you really got stuck in to the activities and had a fantastic time, well done!
